Ascot Porcelain Doll (Poppy) is by the lovely Westacre Concerto (UK) son Ascot Classic Silk out of Ascot China Doll. Interestingly, she was the first foal for China Doll and from Classic Silk's first foal crop. Sadly her dam died prematurely just after we acquired Poppy, so she will always be a one off. Poppy is linebred to the imported Welsh Section B mare, Downland Solitaire, who has been an extremely successful broodmare and is the foundation of Ascot Stud.

The growing number of children in our family led to the desire to acquire an Arabian Riding Pony. We were looking specifically for excellent type, temperament and movement. We first saw Poppy the day before her debut at the Yarra Valley Foal Show, where she was Champion Riding Pony Foal, and loved her type and movement. It was when the then two year old Spencer flung his arms around her front leg that she really sold herself however.

She remains an absolute angel to do anything with, which is so important for a pony destined for children.

Ascot Porcelain Doll is For sale.
